Englishman Near New York (13): Addendum
One of my recent posts detailed briefly increasing Evangelical-Muslim dialogue, together with Roger Oakland’s observation concerning the rise of a global spirituality. Central to this are Yale Theology scholars who are dialoguing with Muslims and who have apologised for the Crusades, War on Terror etc. Leading Evangelicals have also signed the document. More details and some links can be found on the original story (see link above), in which I also mentioned how Tony Blair is apparently involved (we all know of his efforts to launch a Blair foundation which seeks to bring all three main fmonotheist aiths together). Well, after reading the blog entry my wife sent me an email message in which she wrote: “It is interesting that you mention Tony Blair and Yale in the same blog considering that it was just announced last week he will be doing a series of lectures at Yale on Faith and Globalization. Did you know?” I didn’t, the news is pretty parochial in the U.S. I’m afraid (something most Europeans notice when they come here), so I haven’t heard about that. Has anyone else? If so, post details as comments below, together with any reliable links. This is something that clearly interests me and has a bearing on all of us.

Apparently he’s been appointed as the “Howland Distinguished Fellow” for the period of one year (i.e. next academic year). Details on what he’s actually going to teach are apparently being discussed with the “Yale School of Management and Divinity” although it will be on the subject of “Faith and globalisation”.
