Lords win on free speech amendment

Lord Waddington (http://www.theyworkforyou.com/peer/lord_waddington) has succeeded in amending the incitement to “homophobic hatred” offence to include a free speech provision which reads:

‘In this Part, for the avoidance of doubt, the discussion or criticism of sexual conduct or practices or the urging of persons to refrain from or modify such conduct or practices shall not be taken of itself to be threatening or intended to stir up hatred.’

It would be good for Christians to thank Lord Waddington and his 80 colleagues for their important work, here is an easy way – http://www.writetothem.com/?person=uk.org.publicwhip/person/13264.

At that time, I felt uneasy with some of Reid’s theology and behaviour. By now, most of you will be aware that Michael Reid is in disgrace after admitting to an extra-marital affair which apparently lasted for some time. He has now resigned his position as leader of the Peniel church. On top of this shocking piece of news, there are murmurings of other irregularities at Peniel, with dodgy financial dealings being alleged.  We are left wondering what other unpleasant revelations may ensue following Mr. Reid’s disgraced exit.
